We just went and saw the specialist at CTVSH and it was great news. He said it's the first time in 22 years he's seen such a turn around case with an infected + broken elbow. He said she was in very serious danger of losing her leg with the infection when he first saw her and showed me pre and post xrays which look like night and day. He said she should be able to use her leg without surgery and thinks she is actually around 8.5 months old now based on bone growth and teeth.
She may end up with arthritis or pain later on in life (no telling when that will start) but for now, she's in the best shape possible given her previous circumstances. He said she is doing far better than he could have hoped for. Woohoo!He mentioned how she did not look like she was in good shape when Bev brought her in the first time, but seeing her improve at every visit was amazing to see.
